Kasthall asked us to design and coordinate the implementation of their first NYC showroom. Using the brand’s design and product guidelines, which we also helped to establish, we created a space that showed the incredible texture, colour and quality of the rugs to their best advantage. The rugs were hung on rails that stacked within a specially designed thick walls to show as many options as possible without appearing unorganized.

This system also allowed maximum flexibility when changing the display of the showroom, as it is easy to slide the rugs inside the wall. Given the very long and narrow space available, we decided to create different sections by differentiating the functions: entrance, workshop area and the offices at the very end. A bench running the entire length of the showroom created an invitation to enter this space and served as a base line for the hanging rugs.
