In this small gem of a flat just south of Victoria Park, in the most vibrant part of London’s East End our job was simply to make it feel more welcoming, and to add some “Milanese chic”! The feature wall had been left by the previous owner, we simply changed the colour to a more subtle hue, adding some custom designed furniture mixed with Ikea pieces and some design icons such as the “Utrecht” armchair designed by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld in a burnt ochre colour to match the blue/green wall.
The table was a DIY using Ikea parts, the design of the table top reflects the lines made by the sunlight streaming in through the typical sash windows. A custom-made storage / wardrobe space is created by using plywood planks combined with Muji boxes, stacked to create an efficient drawer system. All hidden by a two-tone curtain.
